Since founding his building & development company in 1986, he has directed the new construction and rehabilitation of many residential units, including both affordable and luxury housing, student housing, hotels, senior living, health care facilities, and countless square feet of commercial retail, office, and institutional space.
With over 40 years of hands-on construction experience, Mr. Smith handles the role of President in both the field and project management sides of BRICS Contracting’s business. With a strong background in business management, estimating, and project management, Mr. Smith fosters a corporate culture where BRICS employees play key roles in a team atmosphere which ultimately determines success. Leadership is a key element in our company’s focus and function and the hands-on leadership Mr. Smith provides is evidenced by his daily involvement in activities at the office and our job sites.
Mr. Smith also manages directing pre-construction processes for the BRICS teams, for all deliverable types, from concept. To guarantee maximum price estimates, lump sum bids and design build projects. He also conducts internal audits/peer reviews for projects to facilitate risk mitigation.

Mr. Smith, was named Jr. VP and Chief Real Estate Officer for BRICS Contracting, and is a key part of BRICS vertically integrated Real Estate operating platform. Mr. Smith is responsible for overseeing the BRICS acquisition and development team that executes the underwriting, due diligence, entitlement, lease negotiation, and capitalization of BRICS acquisition and development deals.
Mr. Smith is devoted to serving the needs of clients throughout Central & Southern Florida, his professional associations and partnerships give him a global reach & access to a database of over 950,000 vetted buyers for Real Estate marketing platforms.
